Martine Shareck, ISIS collaborator and professor at the Université de Sherbrooke, received a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Urban Health Equity Among Young People. Congratulations Martine!
The objective of this Chair is to contribute to the creation of knowledge that will help reduce social inequalities in health among young people. Promoting social and health equity among young people is essential to future urban sustainability. Using a unique combination of quantitative and qualitative methodologies, research projects will together (1) assess mechanisms linking urban environmental features, social determinants of health, and health outcomes among young people, and (2) evaluate innovative interventions in the urban environment to understand what works to reduce social inequalities in health, how, and for whom.
